Default Hanover-Langenhagen, 29.04.2016

Frank asked me to show some pictures of my recent trip to HAJ with forum member Super-Conny. So here we go! The Helvetic Fokker was a nice surprise for me. The Saudia/ACT 744F unfortunately used the Northern runway, so it was only possible to view and click from the distance...

Hi Andy,

the German Airports have different security policies. At Hamburg, Terminal 2 at Munich and some other airports, the visitors' terraces have glass fences so taking photographs is a bit tricky. At Dusseldorf there is no glass but security staff is Walking around on the terrace. At Frankfurt and Berlin you have to pass a control Zone in which your luggage is screened. However, spotting at the runways is possible at most places.

Hi Maximilian,

Thanks for explaining. Over in the SF Bay there are usually no observation areas - except for general aviation airfields.

An alternative to SFO, SJC, just installed a new aprox. 4 meter high fence with tight chain links becuase some little brat wanted to fly to Somalia and jumped the pre 9/11 fenceline.

How I wish the SFO observation deck will reopen...

I agree! Really annoying to see the former spectators' facilities closed at most international airports...
