Well, problem at Schwanheim Convention is that stupid table reservation system. People have to be there in the morning THIS year if they want to reserve a table for NEXT year! If you are not there, you poor fool, all tables for next year's November show are gone!!!

Considering the fact that many, many collectors of the November show are coming from other European countries - and even from overseas - it is quite hard to determine if you can confirm your reservation or not 12 months in advance. Can you keep your appointment calendar clear for that day? Can you afford the flight? To my mind, it isn't surprising that several reservations are cancelled - especially in these days!

They should reconsider their reservation policy (as well as the location)... but I am sure they will not.

Super-Conny
10-30-2008, 02:58 PM
agree,
but never back to the Airport ! Parking exorbitant expensive, ways
to any place terrible long .... (if you want to fill two tables )

better a crazy hall at Schwanheim

Interesting... I thought I had seen a message at the last convention saying the next date will be July 10th? It doesn't matter to me, because I've got time on both Saturdays, but Frank said he would be busy on the 10th, so maybe it's a new chance for him?

Aerofan? Maybe founded to serve soccer fans? Anyway, that's why the scheduled Baltic 737 never arrived. Interestingly, they currently seem to wet-lease every plane they can get (Fokkers of Blueline, Carpatair and Trade Air/Sunadria have already been to HAM this year).

After you guys went home, I moved between the two runways to get better light conditions. I caught some highlights in a fairly short time including Air China Cargo, Condor's Willi with winglets, an unknown A300 freighter and a Korean 777 (all approaching 25L, while the boring LH inbounds used the other runway ). Sunday was nice in the beginning with the flights from the US, but they soon switched to 07-direction, so I spotted some longhaul departures and went back to Frankfurt City early. Pics will follow.

I'll keep my promise. Very late, but here we go:
-B-2458, 747-400F of Air China Cargo
-B-LIF(?), 747-400F of Cathay Pacific (the white plane followed the silver plane showed by Julian)
-D-ABON, 757-330(winglets) of Condor
-D-AILU, A319-114 of Lufthansa, with the updated "Lu"-scheme
-A300B freighter of Solinair (never heard of that airline before).

Shame that the way from Hamburg is always so long...I wonder if I could sell the big chunk still left of the collection...

:wondering: Its always the big decision....selling or spending ?! One can hardly buy everywhere if you have a stand and sell, right ? How do you do it ?
Have you experienced losses, eg noticed that things had been stolen ?
I had that unpleasant experience in Hamburg....

Last time I went was 2008, we got up at 3am in the morning and took the car and same evening way back. Completely worn out after that....very exhausting. :sleepy:

And I got the comment from my girlfriend: "I never imagined that there are so many more crazy people like you!" How nice

Super-Conny
01-20-2011, 11:53 AM
if you like to sell and looking also for some how to buy ..
in general all table users will take a look to your table when you ask for a little assistance...
general I can say nobody steal ..
one exception in my 20 years of Schwanheim ...
a unknown visiting women ( I believe ) took the "chance" to "pickup"
a scale 500 model ... thats it ...

Therefore the last 4 years I´m allways accompanied by my son .
(to have a chance to went out and smoke  from time to time)

...
traveling ... if you only like to visit Schwanheim for searching and looking
take the 29Euro ticket ( 90days before) of Deutsche Bahn
like maximilian do  (cheeper than car fuel and less time consumption HAM-FRA vv.)

and the summer event is not so much long ( time) and full
as the november date ...
in november 2011 meanwhile hard to get a table
(allways booked already all tables at nov 2010 ! )

Correct, I'll show up again of course! Maybe I'll stay for two days again, like last summer.

But before that, there will be some weeks of holiday in Japan (March).
