1/1000 Scale Models

I know some of us here are really going nuts for the 1/1000 mini scale. Following Herpa and GeminiJets, new manufacturers are entering the scene and improving the quality. I recently found this picture on the net, cosindering it is 1/1000, the quality and detail appears to be amazing...

Actually, this is quite amazing! The 1/1000 scale models cost about 8 thru 12 Euros these days but the choice is quite limited. Firstly, the 1/1000 scale was (presumably) ment to be the successor of 1/600 (even smaller and even cheaper for give-away stuff)... but, obviously, this idea did not materialize as originally intended. 1/1000 models are quite rare and seem to be kind of 'special collectibles' now, hence the expensive price...

Anyway, these nice little things are getting better and better... comparing the gear on Hogan's 1/1000 747 to Herpa's 1/600 767, I must say that I'd prefer the smaller model! :thinking:

It's the same set of 3 that ended up on eBay for almost EUR 70,- in late February (see MAX777's posting above)... and the retail price is only one third of that final eBay bid!
