I thought I'd start a thread to try and track the production of the new 777s which seem, judging by Wilfried's experience, to be dripping out onto the market gradually.
Wilfried stated that he had received both the following models on the new mould:
PIA
Alitalia
I assume the Alitalia is still in the old livery? Wilfried could you post photos of both of those new models please?
From the photo I have seen is the only change the merging of the mould into a one piece mould removing the ugly join in the fuselage?
Has anyone else seen any new mould 777s at all? It's hard to tell from eBay because most sellers use the Schuco stock photo.

It seems like they are now updating the 777 mould a lot now, the A340 mould could use an update as well.

The 777-200 was one of the new moulds announced at the Nuremberg toy fair earlier in the year along with the 747-300 and A321 though by new they really mean modified as they have actually kept the shape and just merged the mould fuselages together to make them one piece and remove the unsightly seem.
Here are photos from Wilfried of the two new 777s released so far that we know of. To me the nose looks slightly different but it might just be my eyes .
They both look good but it would have been a great opportunity for Schuco to have used the updated Alitalia colours:

"would have been a great opportunity for Schuco to have used the updated Alitalia colours".
Glad you write "update", not "change" as I for one really disappointed - after all Italy one of the great countries of modern design ... and all they did was lower the green stripe and extend the tail color downwards - impressive??? Anyway YOU know but Schucho clearly live in their (little) own world and surely not even aware of design change. They do not much care about us, the collectors (not even announcing new moulds etc. according to various other threads) and now also disregard the airlines themselves. Ever so impressive!!!!

Does that mean that you got Schuco to actually tell you that it had a new mould or had to wait for one to arrive?

I don't like the old and the new mould of the 777, because the diameter of the engines is too big and they are touching the ground. Look at a real 777:

Correct the engines are a little bit too big and sadly they didn't squeeze it.
But the GE90 is really huge!

I picked up a new mould British Airways 777-200 at Mauritius Airport in August 2010 so it has been around for some time.
