Hi everybody,
As I annouced to some of you via E-mail, a so-called Family Day took place at Hamburg Finkenwerder last Saturday. It was supposed to be for the families of Airbus employees but in the end, loads of visitors came along to watch and there were long lines of people waiting for every bus or ferry that went there. As I've known some people at Airbus, I was able to catch two tickets for the event and took Kümpser with me.
It was really great, the weather was better than expected, only some short rain showers, but whenever an interesting movement happened on the runway the rain was over again. We walked around the huge assembly halls and aprons until our feet were fed up with it! The departure of the A380 was a highlight and furthermore, all the single-aisle types were displayed there together with a Beluga and some older planes. In the late afternoon, we were able to watch and spot some of these planes leaving Hamburg again.
Anyway, let's go on with some pictures now
Some Airbus narrowbodies on the apron (sorry, I couldn't avoid the fences around the planes).
