It was my understanding that Schabak used to decide which models to make based upon both orders from airlines and their own decisions. Is this the same for Schuco or do they only make a model when they get an order from that airline?
Some of the new models (SATA, Pulkovo, Air Macau and others) I assume are carry overs from Schabak orders made by the airlines which Schuco has managed to keep. They would be bizarre choices otherwise.
Are the others, like Avianca, the result of new business with that airline or a choice by Schuco itself? It seems for example that the Emirates 777-300 is not now going to be made (no-one seems to want it anyway) because the deal with EK has fallen through.
I guess my central question is are we as collectors going to be dependent on Schucos airline dealings? Thought?
