WBIA

It's time to show another fantasy airport which is situated in Northeast Germany and is called "Western Baltic International". It`s not a great thing but maybe it helps someone to start his own project. As I found no lasting place in my flat, it a became a "moveable" airport. The basis is rugged "package paper". The buildings are made of massive wood - nothing else would endure this kind of treatment (and that of my children:wink:). For basic painting I use Revell colours (this small pots). All buildings will get paper decals in the next months or years.... Thanks to great Imogenia-homepage, I tried to make my own cars (first tries), because it looks much more realistic with that kind of details. Hopefully, I can soon report on construction progress.
The airport is "timeless" and served by a mixture of airlines and aircrafts starting from the late 80ies until now. Starting to collect Schabaks twenty years ago, I planned to construct DUS airport, thus LTU is still a dominating airline at WBIA. It has two crossing runways and one terminal with four piers. In pier A and B you find Star Alliance airlines. Pier A is connected to the terminal via a "skywalk" and has the only parking position for an A380. Pier D is mainly used by LTU/Air Berlin Group. Most other airlines are found at pier C. Of course, there is a small museum with historic aircrafts and an observation deck closed to RWY 14..
That's it for today. There are no horrible airports, they are just the beginning of great projects...
